Summary0021274: Media Properties: Drive letter of (some) removable medias cannot be assigned
DescriptionIf you are moving your library from one PC to another and you want to assign drive letter of certain Removable drives (USB flash disk, SD card) then such a drive can appear with serial number: 0000-0000 and silentlty fails to assign as drive letter in 'Media Properties > Location'

1) Under Entire Library > Location select a location without drive letter
2) Right-click > Media Properties
3) In the Location dropdown select removable drive (tested with USB stick connected as H:\)
=> serial changes to 0000-0000
4) click [OK]
=> the letter H:\ silently fails to assign

Probably it is specific only to some volumes/drives (serial is shown fine for removable HDD/SSD)

As talked I am unable to replicate I would personally investigate more what caused that getvolumeinformationw fail to return information?

USB flash drives/SDcards are removable drives and Some external HHDs, Factory formatted have 0000-0000 serial by default. Also not all HDDs are disabled Automatically in Devices and Services due the Factory settings.

Is there any steps to replicate?

Note: I tested on Over 20 external HDDs (FAT/FAT32/exFAT/NTFS) and 5 different USB enclosures without success even I managed few to be detected as MTP Devices and at least 10 USB Flash drives and SDcards.
