Not sure it is a good idea. We deprecated common album art folder support in the version 3.0 for several reasons, see 0001633, 0004786. Now, the last used folder isn't remembered, but it automatically navigates to the folder where the track is stored in order to simplify navigation. i.e. If you select a track stored in location F:\Music\Air\10000 Hz Legend\ and click [Properties] and [Add] album art then it is automatically navigated to the F:\Music\Air\10000 Hz Legend\ folder. This is the desired behaviour for most of users. |

You are right, it has its point. Althru maybe it should not be too big of the problem to add INI setting to get Default path for small number of users. For example it would be useful to get Album art for CDs and upcoming DVD/BD Disks. (Personally with 120 CDs in library I always keep Linked Album Arts in single folder) DefaultArtPath=c:\My Album Arts @Ludek If I'm not wrong it would only need few lines to check INI and replace default folder before browse dialog opens. |
I have an idea here. Why not add an extra Add-button to the form which defaults to the last used folder. The Add-buttons could then be renamed to something like: "Add from Track Folder" "Add from Specified Folder" It could also be solved with Check-boxes or Radio-buttons or even a dropdown. This is a longtimer on the wishlist and it would be nice if it could be resolved. |
I don't like the idea to add an extra button, because it would clutter UI. I also don't like the idea to add a hidden config, because most users wouldn't discover the config. I would rather do it somehow automatically. For CD tracks (*.CDA) it would go to the last used folder. For ordinary tracks it would go to the track folder (current behaviour). |
What about a checkbox, under the existing one: - "Remember last used Folder" |
I still think that no checkbox is needed in order to prevent from cluttering UI. See what happens: If you click [Add] button then it goes to track folder (as expected) in the 'Select image files' dialog. And if someone needs to go to the last used folder then he can via the left column options. There is left tree with following options: *Favorites --Desktop --Downloads --Recent Places Libraries --Documents --Music --Pictures --Videos Homegroup Computer Network I believe that '*Favorites->Recent Places' accomplish this functionality. So in my opinion this issue should be resolved as "No change required". |
