Summary | 0009688: Optimize toggle between Now Playing Art/Playlist views
Description | As of build 28, the toggle is functioning well, however, there are 2 elements of the current design that can be improved upon: i) The user initially toggles to NP via the miniplayer, but has to subsequently toggle between NP views via the action bar which is at a different location. ii) It's generally preferable for more commonly used functions to be towards the bottom of the UI, and the current toggle is at the top. One way of dealing with both of the above would be to move the toggle from the action bar to the player. So: -User would click the Artwork in the miniplayer to get to the NP view -User would click a 'Playlist' button at the leftmost margin of the miniplayer to switch to the NP>Playlist view -User would click the Artwork in the miniplayer to switch back to the NP>Artwork view. This has the additional benefit of removing a menu item from the Action bar. The only downside is that the Player bar menu for the NP>Artwork view won't have a 'balancing' entry on the right side, however, this can be migigated by making this menu item grey. Thoughts?

Fixed in build 29. - I like the idea, navigation seems to be much cleaner now. - It seems to be a little distracting now, so creating a version where the icon is more gray (vs. the current white) would probably help. |

Tested build 29. Huge improvement. Minor issues: 1) The playlist button doesn't appear to be vertically (central axis) aligned with the player buttons (prev/play/next). 2) The 'hot' spot for the toggle isn't quite as big as for the prev/play/next buttons, and combined with issue 1) causes the button to sometimes appear to not function. |
|
Fixed in build 30. 1) Probably just an optical illusion, the buttons are pixel-perfectly centered. 2) Fixed. |

Verified build 30. |
