Summary | 0010131: Sleep-Timer
Description | Like in MMW it would be nice that that MMA also have Sleep-Timer to be able stop music playback after some time. Proposed implementation: 1) Add 'Sleep timer' to Now Playing context menu. It could be in all menus, but then we have to deal with cases in which the NP list is empty. 2) Dialog: ------------------------- Sleep Timer ------------------------- . . Oh 10m 00s (large font) [-] . . . . . . [+] (holding advances by 1 minute, and gradually accelerates to 5m increments) [ ] Fade out music [ ] Play last song completely [Cancel (Reset)] [START (STOP)] ------------------------- Notes: START --> playback of the current now playing list begins (if it's not already in progress), the timer starts counting down, and the buttons change to [RESET] [STOP] Cancel --> dialog is closed Reset --> start value is reset to the value last used for the timer STOP --> timer is stopped, and dialog is closed 3) Notifications / Status Ideally, when the timer is enabled/active, there should be some sort of UI feedback so that the user is aware of this. If this is non-trivial to implement, it can be deferred. a) Notifications bar: i) Different MM/Sleep icon to show that the timer is active in the notifications bar. ii) In the notification, display time remaining (e.g. sleep timer: 32m 10s) next to the number of tracks remaining in the NP list. b) Indicator/Shortcut in the global icon list to the right of the magnifying glass. It could show a clock that indicates the number of the smallest units of time remaing; e.g. for 1h 32m 25s it would show 1h32m, for 32m25s remaining it would show 32m25s. Clicking the shortcut opens the sleep timer dialog.
