Summary | 0010667: Plugging in some Android devices --> 2 seemingly identical devices
Description | When I connect a Samsung Captivate (running GB) to MMW for the first time, two apparently identical instances of the device 'Samsung Captivate' appear within MMW. Upon closer examination of the files on the devices, one 'device' is the internal memory, and the other is the external card, however, most users will not realize this. Is there a way for MMW to somehow differentiate 2 locations on a device? Furthermore is there a way for MMW to indentify to the user which device is internal vs external--as it stands it's impossible from within the MMW UI to determine which of the 2 devices should be used?

I've just tried first connect with Samsung Galaxy S2 and I see the storages as "Phone" and "Card" both in Windows Explorer and MediaMonkey. Therefore I won't be able to repro without using your device or getting more info. 1. Do you see both the storages with different names in Windows Explorer too? 2. Is there any other info how to distinguish between the storages (e.g. based on content)? 3. If you would generate debug log and export MMDC of both the device profiles, it could give us a clue how to distinguish between the storages. 4. There was a bug in this area in the past, could you try to delete the profiles and re-connect (to create new profiles) to see whether the issue still exists? |
