Summary | 0011210: Wi-Fi sync: Updated files aren't resynced on subsequent sync operations
Description | When syncing a 650MB audio file, a timeout error occurred, and the file was only partially synced. The problem, though, is that the file appeared in MMA to be fully synced (i.e. it appeared in the track browser), even though attempts to play it were unreliable. Additionally, attempts to resync the file had no effect, since MMA 'thinks' that the file has been synced.

Track size is always compared with metadata size from server and track is deleted in case of mismatch. But we already have this kind of problem with attached album artwork. Is it possible to attach log ? |
I just wonder what timeout could occur? I don't see a reason for a timeout. |
It was an mma error message about a timeout. It occurred when syncing a 650MB file stored to a NAS device via MMW, so there was a lot of network activity (MMA<----->MMW<----->NAS). |
Hmm, I cannot replicate, but I don't have a NAS. So please generate the log as requested by Marek and also please generate MMW log. |
unable to replicate--leaving open to try again. |

Here's an easy way to simulate the network connectivity problem that triggered the bug: 1 Add a large audiobook file to the sync list 2 Auto-sync 3 While the auto-sync is in progress, disable WiFi on the Android device --> sync terminates 4 Examine the audiobook on the device --> It exists, though it's incomplete 5 Initiate autosync again so that the partially synced audiobook is resynced --> MMA indicates 'Nothing to sync' |
Note: a similar problem was reported by a user; he replaced some MP3's (that were on the sync list) in MMW with higher bitrate versions of the same files. Upon resyncing, the old files on the device weren't replaced with the new ones: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=73856 I'm able to replicate this as follows: 1 rip a CD vbr5 2 add the CD to the sync list and sync 3 rerip the CD @vbr1, replacing the original tracks 4 sync --> the new higher bitrate files don't replace the old ones |

Issue with deletion of files is fixed in build 172 |
