Summary | 0011259: "Properties" option should be removed from View menu
Description | It is confusing to have two "Properties" options in the main menu level, one in Edit menu and another in View menu. I cannot remember any standard Windows application which has two Properties options in two menus. Honestly, it took some time while I figured out what is difference between those two dialog boxes (one is modal and another is modeless) and I am not sure right now if I know which is which. Actually, I think that I found out what is difference between them reading some forum post. It is bad practice if you want your users to find out about some option of your program in its forum. The Properties dialog could be used for editing tags and I think it is natural to have it only in Edit menu. If you want two display modes of that dialog, maybe you could use some another approach. For example, my Magic Nodes and RegExp scripts have just one option in main menu to open their main dialog box, but in the Options I have the "Modeless MN Settings dialog box (allowed access to other parts of the program)" option that determine its mode. It is not a suggestion, but only something that you could think about it. The another approach would be to make one completely different interface for editing tags that could be used in parallel with the rest of the program instead of the existing modeless dialog box from View menu. That could be one dockable and resizable panel similar to mp3tag's panel for editing tags.
