Summary | 0011400: Handle swapped external cards better
Description | Wifi sync uses a unique ID on card to connect it with a Device Profile in MMW, however MMW doesn't use this when connecting via USB. In this case I connected a SD card from Device 1 in Device 2: - On USB sync it was recognized as SD card from Device 2 - On wifi sync it was recognized as SD card from Device 1 It seems there is nothing that can be done in this scenario when doing a wifi sync, but for USB sync improvement is possible. When attempting to USB sync to any location MMW should compare USB Device Profile ID with MMA Device Profile ID. If they match sync can proceed, if they don't the user should be prompted to: 1) Use USB Device Profile (and update MMA Device ID on device if possible) 2) Use Wifi Device Profile (and ask user to use USB or Wifi Device name) 3) Cancel sync Having these options as some users may prefer to use the device's Device Profile whereas others may prefer to use the card's Device Profile. It may also prevent user confusion of mis-identifying cards.
