Summary | 0011518: Renderer: Preparing Playback when MMW is used as renderer
Description | If for example Twonky Beam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pv.twonkybeam is used to Stream YouTube Video to MMW it takes time to load and play file. Time is depending on bandwidth, connection quality (if WiFi is used), Internet Access, ... and MMW UI looks like nothing is sent to MMW Renderer. We should at least show "LOADING... <Stream Info> from 192.168.0.33" so that user knows that MMW is receiving Stream and preparing it. This behavior is more notable when I tried to Stream from Windows PC using WMP -> MMW where user stops playback on device introducing MMW appears non stable.

NOTE: I tested this on two LG TVs and one LG BD player and all of as soon as DLNA playback they show info that device was receiving stream. |

I think that the problem here is that MediaMonkey is not capable to stream videos from youtube, tracked as 0011352 Re the info: Based on my tests MediaMonkey always show the related song info on the player/now playing indicating what track is being played. Then buffering can take several seconds. Maybe some progress like you suggested could be shown, but not a big deal IMHO. |

There is no problem in YouTube Video Playback, file play without problem try playing (Beam It) with Twonkey Beam. I have done more tests today. I have Stable 135Mbps at home and MMW taked 2-5 Sec to start Playback, but at friends house (He have LG 42LW5500) where I had 11-54Mbps MMW took up to 30 Sec to start video Streaming which makes it too long as LG took only 5 Sec for same thing. Where the end result was that I accidentally canceled Streaming before it even started and all was OK. But I agree, 4.1.1 is more reasonable. |
