Summary | 0012228: Crossfade option
Description | Now that gapless playback (0010611) is implemented, it seems that adding optional crossfading might be quite easy to do. An option could enable it and additionally some tracks could be ignored, per rules from MMW (to be specified).

As discussed over IM, Marek would look into it after gapless playback is properly tested on more devices by our beta testers. |

Tested 460. Crossfading should only apply to certain types of tracks (exactly as with MMW). In fact, in general, MMA should apply audio settings in the same manner as the user chooses for MMW (i.e. such settings should be in sync between the 2 apps). In general, users won't want crossfading for spoken word (audiobooks/podcasts), but may want it for music. Also, in cases where the user does want crossfading, they'll want to be able to configure the degree to which the tracks overlap. Assigning to Jiri for feedback (primarily vis a vis the issues of synchronization of settings and of whether it makes sense to use different settings for different track types given that MMA doesn't have the notion of 'type'). |

I'd hardcode it for now, i.e. if enabled, crossfade music, but not any other type. Anything else would be rather tricky at this moment. |
