Summary | 0012281: Grid view for more than just Albums
Description | The grid should be supported in other views besides Albums. Most likely, the aspect ratio of the grid entries couldn't be square for other views since the focus would be more on the text (e.g. in Genres view the image could be shorter and wider to display more albums, and so that there's more room to display the text which is of greater importance than the images). Marek pointed out that it can't be implemented in Playlist or Tracklist views that require drag and drop functionality. But it would make sense to implement for all other views (except track lists). i.e. Artists (main view), Playlists (main view), Composers (main view), Genres (main view + artists subview), Video (main view), Classical (composers subview), ThBut do you want to show grid view for tracks generally ? Or only for collections like genres, artists, composers, albums, ...

It is ok. I meant playlist items views. Playlists view is ok and without drag and drop functionality. |

I have created two layouts with rectangular grid and multiple artworks: 1. Images have different zoom according number of artworks in item - when item has 0 or 1 artwork - images are big and cropped - when item has 2 or 3 artworks - images are small - resized according height 2. All images have same zoom - all images are always cropped In first approach, the images are not so cropped. But I probably prefer the second approach because imho it looks more consistently. What do you think? |

I prefer the second approach as well. |

Tested 387. It's working reasonably well except: 1) I would suggest that the icon be moved to the overflow icon (top), since the layout is getting too busy. 2) The settings currently span all nodes (e.g. if the user changes from Art to List for Albums, then the change occurs for Artists as well. This is going to be very annoying for some users. I would suggest that settings should persist per node. e.g. the settings should be independent for: -Albums views -Artists/Album Artist/Artist&Album Artists views -Genres views etc. If this is too much atm, then the settings should minimally persist for: -One setting for Albums views -One setting for all other views besides Tracks 3) This should apply to Playlists as well |

Verified 388. The only change I'd suggest is that Album views should be set to AA mode rather than list mode by default (i.e. on initial installs). |
