Summary | 0012922: MMA crashes on clean installs to Android 5 on some devices
Description | Some users have reported that MMA is crashing on run. I've been able to replicate this by doing a clean install to an Alcatel Idol 3 running Android 5.0.2, however, same test by Peke on a Moto G running 5.1.1 has no problem. Note: this crash doesn't occur when upgrading to 1.1.3 from 1.1.2--it's only on a clean install. Debug log generated via logcat posted to the ftp server.

User on a Galaxy 5 has reported similar problems in the Play store: Your latest update has major problems on my galexy 5. Hangs, freezes, repeats randomly, unusable! H E L P. And ALL 19 gigs of my music is gone from my device. Good thing I have backup. |
|
Further testing seems to indicate that this bug is specific to the release build. i.e. on an Alcatel Idol 3, the beta build 491 consistently runs, but the release build 491 consistently crashes. |

The error message should be changed to: MediaMonkey can't access its application folder due to a bug in the version of Android on your device. To fix this, uninstall MediaMonkey, reboot your device, and then re-install MediaMonkey. [OK] |
