Summary | 0014295: Cross-Type Linking of related content
Description | It would be nice if MediaMonkey could do cross type linking of content. Currently online database will link Movies as to be longing to a Collection (eg. James Bond), but this stops at content from the same Type (Movies). It would be nice that if a user views a Movie, TV Show, Audiobook or Album that MediaMonkey would display related linked content. So for a Movie it would show the Movie, Movies in Collection, TV Show related to that Movie (Collection), Audiobook from that Movie and the Soundtrack from that Movie. I'm not aware that this could be done automatically from online sources. This means that it would require some intelligence from MediaMonkey to accomplish. This could be done in 2 ways: 1) Fully automatic, this would require naming convention guidelines to accomplish. 2) File to Edit, a node that would suggest possible links between content across Types. Either way (or both) would still require the user to be able to edit the links.

I'm not sure I"m understanding this correctly. For linking of content, are you referring to the FMFS functionality and associated links in the Playing window? If yes, the functionality you're asking for is available if the user browses content via the Entire Library node. But you're right that links are otherwise only within the active Collection. |
