Summary | 0014741: Devices And Services: Bugs and Tweaks
Description | 1. I noticed that iPod do not show on devices list or when connected (See attached picture) NOTE: It syncs OK so no functionality issue only UI presentation 2. There is no way to determine which Devices are disconnected and which are connected in the tree or in the view. There should be distinctive ways to visually know device status eg. Connected, Disconnected, Syncing(Includes WiFi), Disabled, Newly Added (to let user know it is not yet setup to sync) 3. There is no Way to Disable Device like in case of External HDDs that are/to be scanned into library and not to be used as portable sync device

1) I haven't been able to replicate. Is this consistent behaviour for you? Which iPod model? Are you sure that the iPod is visible in iTunes? Nevertheless I've done some changes, please re-test in 2098 and report back. 2) Is implemented in 2098 (Connected, Disconnected, Syncing(Includes WiFi), Disabled) 3) Is implemented in 2098, I added Disable/Enable toggle to the context menu. Disabled profiles are shown as the very last profiles (you need to click '(show all)' link in the devices view to be able to view them and enable again) |
1. Yes it was, 2098 seams to fix that and device is shown in tree when connected (RED). Device is iPod Touch 4G iOS 6.1.6. Now it shows wrong Icon. 2. Verified 2098, I would also Append Sync Type during syncing eg. "Syncing (WiFi)" (BLUE) 3. Verified 2098 |
4. No way to Unmount device either from context menu nor from device profile. Only way to do that is to have selected Auto Unmount in profile and do a sync 5. Right click on connected device should not focus on Device profile but should only show context menu. Sometimes you want to leave device connected after sync (Charging) and auto focus interfere with normal MM usage. 6. Device Icon is not editable 7. Disconnected devices are shown in tree (Green) 7a. Never synced (New devices) should be shown till User configure profile or do a successful WiFi Sync or disable 8. There is no way to disable Device Plugin Group and tell MM not to handle such devices Eg. disable iPhone plugin so no iphones would be detected (In MMW it is simple done if you disable all iphone profiles under options. |
7) it is per 0013697:0046512 , i.e. profiles synced within last 7 days are shown Lowering priority for items 4 - 8. |
7) 0013697:0046512 behavior do not work See my attached picture where "iPod ..." should be shown and "LGE ..." should not. At least as I agree with 0013697:0046512 there should be color difference in connected devices against last synced devices? |
7) the media tree subnodes are per #13767 --> All devices and services that are either "connected" (USB connected or logged in) and all devices with granted remote access appears there as subnodes. Only the "connected" are the drop targets. i.e. this is so that the Wi-Fi sync enabled devices (Motorola and LGE in your case) are easy to find in MMW |
