Summary | 0016178: LIbrary Reset: There is no way to reimport library and keep settings
Description | Currently user can't revert his choice of importing MM4 library on startup and/or start first start wizard. If user for example choose not to import MM4 library and is satisfied with MM5 and his UI settings, there is no way to ask for import MM4 dialog and/or go thru first start wizard. From user stand point I see few possible solutions: 1. Once User select Clear database ... MM5 could restart and ask for prompt to import MM4 library 2. If user delete MM5.DB and start MM5 it should prompt for Import 3. Under help we can add additional Option to Reset Settings and/or start First start Wizard There is also few variations on same things it is just matter of choose right one.

2. Based on my testing this works as expected, i.e. deleting MM5.DB and restarting MM5 prompts MM4 database to import. Isn't this happening for you too? 1&3) I don't think that user would expect this under Help or after the Clear Database action. If any, we could add another choice to the Manage database dialog (like import MM4 database & settings) or add a chooser to select MM*.DB file, but not sure how and whether this is really important, rather a low priority IMO. |
Also, wouldn't the option to import a chosen backup as described in 0016176 meet these needs? |
1) Confirm it prompts for restart, but delete fails Video Uploaded 2) Retested 2223 and I get prompt for import MM4 DB and start wizard if MM5.DB is deleted 3) Covered in 0016176, I agree of adding another choice. |

Assigned To Ludek because of 1) failing (NOTE: Log file sent directly offline) 2,3) Works. Will add in 0016176 point 4) info about new option. |
1) I can confirm that "Clear database" fails with access denied to MM5.DB (exactly as on the Peke's video). Assigned to Petr for a fix. |
