Summary | 0016979: Tagging: MM should warn user if it selects Id3v1 only and files have ID3v2 already in file
Description | MM should warn user if it selects Id3v1 only and files have ID3v2 already in file. Currently if file contain both ID3v2 and ID3v1 and user select ID3v1 only then ID3v2 is not changed and as Mm prefer ID3v2 on reading it looks like file is not updated on tag changes. Possible solutions would be: a) Warning that some files contain other metadata formats and it is possible that updates will not be propagated then do nothing b) Same as above a), but with choice to remove other tags from file and save only selected tag format c) Show warning that User has chosen outdated tag format and a choice to switch to default one eg. ID3v1 + ID3v2.4
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Save Tags into file (both ID3v1 and ID3v2) 2. Select ID3v1 only on tags and playlist options 3. Edit Track properties -> Change title and add new album art 4. Save tags 5. Use right click -> Edit tags -> Update tags to be sure tags are saved to file 6. Right click in File explorer -> Properties Changes are missing. EDIT: If file was not in library and you refresh then even MM would just show ID3v2 tags not updated ID3v1.
