Summary | 0017877: Lyrics Search: Lyrics search often fail where Auto-Tag find correct info
Description | Lyrics search often fail where Auto-Tag find correct info Some tracks are often mislabeled and Auto tag easily finds correct info about tracks (due teh fingerprinting). On other side Lyrics search fail due the small typo in track name. One of Examples are track "Fath no more - easy" which is often written as "Faith no More - I'm Easy" or "jane birkin - Je t'aime moi non plus " referred as "jane birkin - Je t'aime"

It seems that there are two issues being discussed here: 1) background lyric lookup: I don't think we should spend a lot of horsepower on trying to get auto-lyric lookup to work better if the original metadata is flawed (same applies to background album art lookup). 2) auto-tag lyric lookup: when it comes to Auto-tag functionality, artwork and lyrics should only be looked up after Title/Album/Artist/Album Artist. And if the user changes the Title/Album/Artist/Album Artist, then secondary metadata such as Artwork and Lyrics should be looked up again. Isn't this already the case? |
|
Re 1) I agree with both, Background Lyrics search by fingerprinting if failed based on Metadata is resource demanding and most likely not worth to implement ATM re 2) No, editing metadata info stops search instead of doing search again. This is documented in 0017878 |

Resolving, 1) won't be implemented and 0017878 is already fixed. |
