Summary0018093: File paused for 45 minutes on Chromecast does not resume playback
DescriptionI cannot replicate, but user Platonius from [Ticket # 1998] is observing this issue:

Version 2419
When MM5 looses connection to a GoogleCast device, it doesn't connect on the first try. This can happen in 2 ways:
1. Press play and it starts connecting, but fails. Second try it connects ok (see logfile).
2. When it times out (pause for an hour or so), if you press play it doesn't even start connecting. Stop playback and start again and it does start connecting.

Based on the log the Chomecast sent "CLOSE" message after some time while the file was paused.
We should stop playback of the paused file on this message -- and thus pressing Play will re-connect and start playback.
i.e. currrent workaround is to stop the paused file at first (or double-click it again).

TRaks changes to stop after some time and pressing play starts playback again.

Tested 2522 and playback does resume, but it resumes from the beginning of the track--not from the point at which the track was paused. (I didn't generate a log because I'm also testing the non-debug build).

Note: Pause/Play does resume playback from the paused position when the pause is for short durations.

Let me know if you need a log, but from my perspective, this is a really minor issue.

Yes, I can confirm that once the file is not bookmarkable and the playback is paused for longer time than 20 minutes then Chromecast disconnects and MM5 goes to "Stopped" state.
Thus re-connecting does resume playback from the paused position only for bookmarkable videos/tracks.

I'm finding that whenever I cast to a chromecast mini and Pause playback with build 3112, it resumes by itself after about 20 minutes.

Can you have a look at the attached debug log to see if this is being caused by MMW?

I see, it is because 0021515 haven't been merged from 2024.2 to 2024.1 branch

=> Fixed in 3113 , i.e. the MM player gets from paused to stopped state when the default app on CC is auto-closed (and not auto-resume like in 3111)

I verified as well with Google Mini Speaker.
