Summary | 0018573: Auto-tag: often fails for tracks with an apostrophe in the title
Description | Attempts to auto-tag tracks with an apostrophe often result in poor metadata because the the musicbrainz database is fragmented in the sense that a single track will be listed in many different ways and each variant will be associated with only some albums. e.g. initiated auto-tag on: I Love Rock 'N Roll | Joan Jett returns the album 'Bad Reputation' / 2018, even though it's a 1980s tracks! The problem stems from the fact that there exist numerous variants and only some of them are associated with the correct album: I Love Rock 'N Roll I Love Rock 'n' Roll I Love Rock-n-Roll I Love Rock ānā Roll Possible solutions: - In such cases, look up all variants - In such cases, do a fingerprint-based lookup to return all variants in the MusicBrainz db Note: This problem likely occurs in other cases such as: - 'and' vs '&' - / vs - e.g. AC/DC vs AC-DC etc...
