Android Auto requires your app to target Android 6.0 (API level 23) or higher.
In my opinion, this may be the reason, so I think when MMA 2.0 is released, MMA will automatically be available in AA again.

Already fixed in build 2.0.0.1020

Can you please recheck I am still not being able to list MMA 2.0 1055 even it is installed from Play store.

In recent builds (including 1103) MMA does appear in the launcher.
