Summary | 0019278: Better handling of Google cast groups
Description | There is a space to improve and better handle Google cast groups. 1. Groups have server device which report same MAC as one of devices in Group (could be useful to note/track that) 2. Hide devices already in Stereo Pairs and not show them individually as in most cases they fail to play anyway especially if in Pair mode where one play left and other play right channel. 3. Handle "DEVICE_UPDATED", "DEVICE_ADDED", "DEVICE_REMOVED" and possibly "PLAYBACK_SESSION_UPDATED" as they are related to group playback 4. If know content of group maybe we can add submenu to list devices in group. could help users to select desired device

Note that most of apps don't hide the individual devices in the group. That way one can cast either to the group or to the individual devices. The discussion on the forum shown that the only issue is that devices that are paired to a stereo pair shouldn't be shown individually. As once they are paired then casting to them individually doesn't work anyway. |

Fixed in 2659. i.e. the "paired" speakers are excluded from the list. |

Re-opened: new logs attached to [Ticket # 4588] shown that the detection of the "paired" speakers is not correct... |

User from [Ticket # 4588] confirmed this bug as fixed in 2660 , i.e. the individual speakers in the pair are no longer listed. So closing this case... |
