Summary | 0001950: Signal the end of background operations more effectively
Description | Users should be notified about end of background operation - any action that's running with a progress bar at the bottom of MM. This is needed for two cases: 1. When action takes a long time - user would be notified about end of the action. 2. When action takes a too short time - user would know why the progress bar only flashed at the bottom (that's where I noticed this deficiency - import of ratings from other applications can be _too_ fast). Suggested solution that deals with this: When action finishes, this happens: a. Progress bar doesn't disappear immediatelly. b. a text ' - Completed' is added to the progress bar message. c. Progress bar could possibly flash somehow. d. Some short sound could be played (depending on configuration in MM or possibly on some standard sound from Windows?) e. Progress bar would disappear after some period of time (~3 seconds).

Assigning to Rusty for review. |

I agree with everything you've written, except that I don't think that c) (flashing bar) or d) (sound effects) are really necessary. As long as we do e), I think it's sufficient for most cases. Re-assigning to Jiri as 'urgent', though in truth, I think it's really 'high'. |

Pushed to 'high'. |
