Summary | 0020369: Multiple drives with the same Serial Number can appear under the location node
Description | User from [Ticket # 6213] somehow got to the state where he has three drives with identical serial number under Entire Library > Location > ... This somehow happened during time when he was accessing same MM5.DB from various user accounts.. We should prevent this situation from happening and add a reparation to DB upgrade process

The only way how I could replicate something similar was mapping two drives to the same network location e.g. mapping Z:\ to \\NAS\Music\ and mapping Y:\ to \\NAS\Music\ Then scanning both Z:\ and Y:\ will create duplicates (as both points to the same network location with identical serial number)... But in that case I would say it is expected and it is rather user error that he is mapping two drives to the same network location. |
