Summary | 0020510: "Add location" button should have down arrow icon or ">>" on its end, not ellipsis
Description | The "Add location" button in the Add/Rescan files dialog box has ellipsis on its end. They are usually used for buttons that directly open a new dialog box. However, click on that button doesn't open a new dialog box, but a new menu. To be consistent with some other buttons in dialog boxes that open menus, maybe you could use ">>" instead of ellipsis. Or even better, you could use the down arrow icon instead. I don't like that ">>" thing anyway. Maybe it had sense with MM4 and earlier versions which didn't support icons in such places, but MM5 is much more flexible in that regard.

I think it is enough to just remove the dots.. |

There are some things about user interface in the program that are used for decades and people are used to them. One thing is e.g. that a button with the ellipsis on the end of text opens another dialog box. The other thing is that buttons that have only text execute some command directly. And there is that third standard thing when click on the button opens a dropdown menu and in almost all such cases there is the down arrow icon on the right side of the button. This is something that the users are accustomed about. I suggest that you add such icon to that button as well. And to any other button that opens the dropdown menu instead of executing some command. |
