Summary | 0020661: Options to turn off tooltips are needed
Description | There are situations when those tooltips could be really irritating, and it would be great if there are options to turn them off. MM4 had two options for that (on different pages): - Show tooltips for context help (General); - Show tooltips for obscured file properties (Appearance). However, there are some situations when that wouldn't be enough. For example, maybe I want to have tooltips for options in the Options and other dialog boxes, but not for buttons and other areas on the main window, especially player. I mean, we all know for what purpose are Repeat/Shuffle and other buttons, or Track summary text in player, right? We have decades with MM and other programs to learn about their purpose. If you want to keep these tooltips for totally inexperienced people, maybe they should appear only on the beginning, e.g. one month or two after installation of the program, but after that there is really no need for them to appear. The same logic could be applied not only for options in player, but maybe also for toolbar tooltips. Why should we see tooltip for e.g. Previous view every time when we hover above that toolbar button?
