Summary | 0020825: Improve Manage Databese
Description | The Manage database dialog has several functions and can lead to unclear situations. 1) Clearly separate database maintenance functions from database backup functions. Either split it into 2 different tabs, 2 different dialogs with different menu items or split the dialog (including buttons) into 2 sections in the same dialog. 2) Change text functions to buttons. Backup for example is a text instead of a button. 3) Align Backup options. The settings for backup are a bit of a mess in the current presentation. Backup location is missing a label. 4) Make the dialog wider to show more of the backup Path. 5) Rename 'OK' to 'Run' for running maintenance. 6) Rename Backup to 'Backup now' or 'Manual backup' 7) Add an option to Cancel maintenance operations. Not sure if MM operates on existing database or a copy, but if MM makes a DB copy prior to starting maintenance it could restore it on Cancel. 8) Show which Step of maintenance operation MediaMonkey is on. MediaMonkey can't show time remaining, but showing which step of total steps is currently running would help indicate somewhat how far in the process MediaMonkey is (my rebuild takes over an hour). 9) Fix discrepancy where it runs. Maintenance runs in the main window, whereas Backup runs in the Manage database window.
