As for the [..] Import files, playlists, ratings, and playback history from other applications it is actually desired to not remember this settings so that it doesn't import on every re-scan (it used to be so in MM4 too) I am not sure about the new config [..] Lookup misisng information via Auto-tag this one should be probably remembered? |

Ludek, re. 'Import files, playlists, ratings, etc..', there are 2 usecases: 1) users of an app (e.g. iTunes) that use that app as their reference DB, and periodically import the entire DB to MM (the currently supported usecase). 2) users of an app (e.g. iTunes) that are migrating from that app to MM (a currently supported usecase) 3) users of an app (e.g. iTunes) that use it to purchase content, but and wish to periodically download metadata associated with newly imported tracks into MM (but not Playlists, or metadata associated with previously imported tracks). I suspect that this is the usecase that some users may want but which currently isn't supported. As you said, given that only case 1) and 2) are supported, the current UI makes most sense. Regarding 'Lookup missing info' via Auto-tag, I don't see any downside to enabling this, though I'd prefer to do this for 5.1.1 in case this change is annoying to some. |
