Summary | 0021070: Progress bar stays static too long during some database operations
Description | I got the report from one user about the progress bar during database operations. In short, it complains that the progress bar is not very informative and stays unchanged most of the time, and I tend to agree with him. Here is just one quote from him: "Interestingly, if you look at using all the File / Manage options, then some of the tasks (as noted by the text above the screen centred Progress Control) DO NOT appear to zero the progress bar at the start of the task and thus give the indication of nothing happening." The static behavior is noticeable in his videos with the Rebuild full-text search index and during Checking database structure: VACUUM when optimizing database. I think if some action has a very long lasting operation with the unpredictable ending time, maybe you should use the indeterminate progress bar, as described in the guideline by Microsoft: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/design/controls/progress-controls
