| Summary | 0021904: AAC encoder in 3.0.11 does not work as expected | ||||
| Description | 2 serious issues: 1) setting VBR 100% should create ~210kbps file, but it creates ~135kbps 2) encoding to raw AAC stopped working | ||||

1) I can confirm that 3.0.11 creates lower bitrate m4a file (Image2) against 3.0.10 (image3) Using Same encoding Settings (Image3), but visually observing I think it is as efficient as 3.0.10 if not better (Image4 and Image5) showed along original WAV file. WAV file info is at (Image6) NOTE: Both files are detected as AAC LC @michal do new codec calculate Bitrate differently or have additional settings for higher bitrate compression? |

Fixed in codec pack 3.0.12. 1) was caused by different handling of bitrate values by new version of AAC encoder, 2) was regression caused by previous changes. We also use updated and a lot faster version of AAC encoder now. I added support for higher bitrates, now average bitrate can be set up to 512kbps and quality percent can go up to 1000 now. 100 % should be similar like before, only now users can go up a lot more, if needed for some reason. Note, that bitrate for VBR is highly dependent on complexity of original audio, from my tests quality "100 %" can be 194kbps for one file, but also 260kbps or even more for another. |
