Summary | 0002503: Can't close MM if user doesn't disconnect ifp-880 MTP device
Description | If the user follows the sequence of actions described below, then MM does not close properly and subsequent attempts to run it fail. 1) Open MM 2) Plug in iRiver IFP-880 device 3) Close MM --> MM appears to close, but the process continues to run (as evidenced in the task manager. 4) Try to run MM --> GUI appears partially and is frozen The only way to get out of this state is by ending the process via the task manager. A log is posted to the ftp server. Note: The device in question is using the wmdm driver. I also tried this with the Creative Vision and the problem did not occur.

Fixed in build 1000. - It's rather a bug in iFP-880, but I made some workarounds so that MM is even more friendly to WMDM devices. |
I tested it, but it still seems to not close. More specifically: -Open MM -Connect IFP-880 -Close MM -->MM closes properly BUT -Open MM -Connect IFP-880 -Synch songs to the device -Close MM -->MM DOESN'T close |
Now it should be fully fixed (note though, that iFP-880 driver is buggy and causes problems. They aren't apparent in WMP, mainly because WMDM isn't used in a multithreaded way there) |
Tested 965--MM still can't close :( |
As discussed over IM, it seems we can't do anything more due to problems with iFP drivers. |

Verified 2.5.3.965. Will add faq entry. |
