| Description | If the user tries to open a Microsoft Project file (.mpp) and MediaMonkey has been configured to be associated with .mpp files, then MediaMonkey continually generates errors, until the user is forced to close it via the task manager. 2 possible solutions: 1) fix the problem 2) workaround by not checking .mpp even if the user clicks 'select all' on the file types dialog, and perhaps change select all to 'Select popular'. Fixing the problem is the preferable approach. | ||||

Could you please check out whether the problem is in in_mpc.dll (I think so) by using it in WinAmp? Does the latest in_mpc.dll (from MPC web site) fix the issue? |

User report: What I did was have the computer scan my computer and add all files of all types. Then, when I realized that there were a lot of files scattered around my system that I don't want to listen to, I decided to listen to them. What fun! Anyway, when the Monkey got to a particular file, it went nuts. It threw one dialog whose title bar said, "ERROR: function play()", which it immediately buried under an avalanche of other dialogs, each titled, "172. WindowsMedia - MediaMonkey" with the message "Access violation at address 09C98CD0 in module 'in_mpc.dll'. Read of address 00000010." These dialogs came one after the other in rapid successions for about 30 seconds, and then the application disappeared. Fortunately, I am a seasoned veteran, so I was not freightened. The file in question was C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\plug_ins\Multimedia\MPP\WindowsMedia.mpp. This is probably not an unusual file, but I could send you a copy if you need it. I also took a screen print just before it finally crashed, which I could also send you. |
