Summary | 0003124: MM should use Vista's Audio stack natively
Description | Here is a good basic introduction to what the new sound-API in Windows Vista is for; http://channel9.msdn.com/Showpost.aspx?postid=145665 This enables; 1) Better sound quality - see the video why. It's a while since I saw it. 2) To control MediaMonkey from the audio stack itself. This should be high on priority imo. for v3.0 of MediaMonkey.

1) Yes, using native Vista features we could achieve better performance a audio quality, but we must keep in mind that it's something that only people with the best audio equipment and good ears can benefit from. 2) I'm not sure if there's anything to be done. So, it's something nice to be implemented, but rather for version 3.1. Or someone could implement it as a plug-in. |
