Summary | 0003162: Ability to use multi-character Hotkeys
Description | Ability to use (user-definable) multi-character hotkeys/shortcuts (like present in Notation/MidiNotate products). Of course, for a program that reacts to keypresses like MM, this would have to be in combination with e.g. the Ctrl key. Example: Ctrl+ata (pressing "a", then "t", then "a", all while the Ctrl-key is pressed) to execute Auto-Tag from Amazon. When the Ctrl-key is pressed, the Hotkey handler should start listening to subsequent characters, and execute the action if the typed hotkey exists. If a wrong hotkey is typed, then the Hotkey handler would stop listening until the Ctrl-key is released and pressed again. When the user waits too long (e.g. 3 seconds) to type the subsequent character, the hotkey handler would stop listening too. An indication of which recognized keys have been typed (and if relevant the action that is executed) should be in a part of the status bar.
