Summary0003197: The possibility to go back to a selection which has been inactive
DescriptionIf you select a set of tracks in track-view, then press on the node you're currently watching (or perhaps the Now Playing-list), and then press on one of the several tracks you've just recently highlighted; Shouldn't the behaviour be like this;
1) The first click on one of the selected tracks does so that the previous selection is once again made.
2) The second click does so that the track you clicked on is selected.

This will prevent that the user will have to do the selection all over again when he/she is doing other things between his/hers operations. For example starting playback on a track in the "Now playing"-list. Also, remember that the selection is still inactive, but the one click now destroys the previous made selection.

I wouldn prefer a far less intrusive "Get Previous Selection" shortcut (user-definable) or something similar. Having to click 2 times to select what you want seems counter-intuitive, standards-deviant and could become very annoying because of the extra click needed every time.

I agree with you on that. Having tried this in Windows Vista via Windows Explorer, it seems that in some way it's logic to have an area lightly highlighted even if you can't go back to that selection again.

If I understand this correctly, this is really about persisting track selection.

Tagging this as a feature for future analysis.
