Summary | 0003285: Date and original year need to be used appropriately
Description | In the album art list view.. The ALBUM date should be displayed under the name of the album once.. not for each file. The "date" column should be changed to “original year” of the track... and be named to reflect this... There is no point showing the "date" for each track as the purpose of the date field is the date of the Album... which means it should be the same for every track on the album.

This makes sense except for the fact that Date is usually the only field that is filled in / used in portable devices. Thus, for tracks on a multiple artist album, users might enter the dates for the individual tracks rather than the date of the Compilation album. From an implementation perspective, we have to keep in mind that the fields shown will be the same in AA and AA+Details view, so we might want to hide the Original Year field by default. This should be fixed in conjunction with 3286. |
