Summary | 0003873: Album Artist > Various appears for tracks that have a common Album Artist
Description | As described at: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20620 some users have libraries in which tracks which Album Artist = X all appear under Album Artist = Various. I was never able to reproduce this, however, recently, a user sent me a set of tracks with which this is consistently reproducible. The tracks can be downloaded via: http://download.yousendit.com/945CCDBD20339BD9 (the zip file also contains a db, however, you don't need it--just scan the files and go to Album Artist > Various and be amazed)

Fixed in build 1099. This actually revealed several problems (all fixed now): 1. Most serious: The feature that automatically fills in the missing album artist on scan (so that compilation albums aren't too often split to many 1 track albums) caused a DB corruption where track showed different Album Artists in different views. 2. WMA specific: Tracks with Album Artist filled in in tags were considered as if Album Artist wasn't present. 3. A small improvement: If all tracks of an album are missing Album Artist, on most of them Artist = 'A1' and on some Artist = 'A1;A2' (or similarly), Album Artist is automatically filled in as 'A1'. |
