I can't reproduce the issue. Possibly useful information:

1. After unselecting the exts in MM 3.0 and closing MM, what is in MM.ini, section [Options], line 'AssocExts=...'

2. What is in registry, key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.APL (or another extension)? Interesting is only the Default value there.

Note: since MM 3.0 and 2.5 are considered to be different applications, it's possible that an extension not associated to MM 3.0 is associated to MM 2.5.

Note: There might be problems on Vista, where associations changes might require elevation of user rights.

1. After I deselect every entry in the File Associations panel and click OK:
-If I examine the panel again, the following are selected! : APL, FLA, MP+, MPP, VQF
-If I close MM and look at the ini file, I see:
AssocExts=

2. When I look in the registry keys, I see the following default values:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.APL : MediaMonkey.APLFile
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.FLA : MediaMonkey.FLAFile
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.MP+ : MediaMonkey.MP+File
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.MPP : MediaMonkey.MPPFile
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.VQF : MediaMonkey.VQFFile

note: I doubt this is relevant, but it's a strange coincidence nonetheless: in the registry, these five keys are all capitalized, whereas every single other key (which doesn't have this problem) isn't...

I don't see any problem, try to generate a debug log, it might help.

Posted debug log, though I don't see anything. At around line 394, I changed the config so that all file types are disabled and clicked OK.

Then I close MM and restarted it, and the options were enabled!

Fixed in build 1021.
 - I made some improvement in the code, in case the problem is still there, please create a new debug log.
