Summary | 0004269: Add hotkey support for switching filters.
Description | As described in http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=122049#122049, filters are useful for many users, but they need an easy way to switch between them. Therefore there should be configurable hotkeys added.

Assigning to Rusty to review and specify string to be used. It would probably be sufficient to add this to our standard hotkey framework, it isn't necessary to show some hotkey control in Filters configuration dialog. |
I don't think that any new strings are really required. Available hotkey actions should consist of: Filter: <filter1> Filter: <filter2> Is this what you had in mind? |
It would probably be sufficient, assigning to Ludek, in case of low-risk fix we could even get it into MM 3.0.2. |
The only risk I see that filters are created dynamicaly and that on a creating of a new filter (or renaming) there should be added/updated also the hotkey. Btw. Which default shortcuts to use? Something like 'Ctrl+Alt+1', 'Ctrl+Alt+2', 'Ctrl+Alt+3', 'Ctrl+Alt+4',... ? Another possibility would be to add only hotkeys like: Filter up Filter down ,but we could probably wait for a user feedback/request on this feature for the next version? |
I don't think that there should be any default, the only point is to make this option available to users - so that they _can_ create a shortcut for a filter, but by default there wouldn't be any. |
