Fixed in build 1143. |

This bug seems to occur fairly often. Petr narrowed it down to the following scenario: -MM syncs tracks and updates DB -iTunes connects to device and does gap analysis + db update -->Artwork gets messed up (although we originally saw AA from Videos getting messed up, Petr also indicated that other AA can get messed up). Note: I think that I observed the same problem occuring when iTunes did Volume Analysis and updated the db. |
|
It seems that the artwork of podcasts also seems to get corrupted. |
|
Note: when I download the set of podcasts described in 4526, CNN Album Art doesn't appear on the iPhone even though it does appear in MM (it shows up as '?' on the iPhone). |
|
This Podcasts problem is probably the one described in 0004526, it will be fixed. |

Tested 1154 and the problem seems to occur. Repro steps: 1) Sync podcasts + a few music tracks to iPod & verify artwork afterwards 2) Close MM, run iTunes 3) Manually copy 2 Videos 4) iTunes automatically does some audio analysis on the podcasts. 5) Disconnect iPod. -->Artwork is gone for all podcasts! Other repro steps: 1) Run iTunes 2) Manually copy 2 Videos to clean iPod 3) Close MM and run iTunes 4) Manually Sync 3 podcast episodes from different podcasts 5) Close MM, run iTunes 6) Manually copy 1 music track 7) iTunes automatically does some audio analysis on the 3 podcast episodes 8) Disconnect iPod -->1 of the Podcasts lost their artwork (but videos are fine) Note: in all cases, the problems seem to occur after the automatic audio analysis. Note: I didn't send the DB because I'm not sure how to copy it off the iPhone. |

This requires a knowledgebase entry. The problem is a bug in iTunes--when it analyzes volume, it deletes artwork for tracks that aren't in the iTunes library. Solution: disable soundcheck OR analyze volume in MM beforehand. |

Added knowledgebase article. Closing. |
