Summary | 0004582: Confirm deletion dialog is near-useless for iPods/iPhones
Description | When the user has auto-delete enabled for auto-sync, a confirmation dialog appears asking the user if they really want to delete the listed files. However, because of changes to iPods and MM3, tracks on the iPod have meaningless filenames, and so the user has no real idea of what the list of tracks in the confirmation dialog are! A simple solution would be to show a couple of additional columns. e.g.: Artist Album Title Filename

Since this involves rather significant changes (in the moment of showing of the dialog it's quite a problem to get necessary info to be shown), I'd rather defer this. |

It's quite hard to find a reasonable technical solution for this that would work well with all types of devices. I'd rather defer this for 4.0, where I'd like to introduce some changes to device handling and this would be much easier to add. |

Is there a way of fixing this only for iPod/iPhone devices? We don't need a generalized solution since the problem is not an issue for other devices as they don't force tracks to be renamed to nonsensical filenames. |
