Summary | 0004868: Burning message improvements: disc sequence numbers for disc-spanning burns
Description | There are several things that could be done to make the message more user friendly: 1. The title would probably rather be 'Information' than 'Confirm', wouldn't it? 2. The message currently is 'Disc 1 (copy 1) burned successfully'. Since it assigned a label to the disk, shouldn't there be something instead of 'Disc 1'? I.e. something like 'Disc 'Label' was burned successfully'. 3. In case user wants just one copy (most often), showing 'copy 1' isn't necessary. I'd propose to show is only after 2nd, 3rd, etc. copies are burned. I.e., to show the message specced above after the first copy and show something like 'Copy 2 of disc 'Label' was burned successfully'. 4. When the message is shown, there is still the bottom progress bar visible showing 'Burning... (Closing)'. It would better be hidden or destroyed in this moment. 5. A little unrelated: when I burn across >1 CD/DVD, is it possible to change the label according to the CD/DVD that's just being burned? For example, if I decide to brun all my Rock tracks to 5 DVDs, I'd like the first one to have label 'Rock 1', the second 'Rock 2', etc. Do we support something like 'Rock #' for disc labels?

6. little unrelated it is unclear to me what exactly "Delete original Files" do? |

Increased priority in order to review asap. |

1. Sounds good. Or alternatively "Burn: Status" (strings for Burn and Status exist). 2. Sounds good. e.g. 'Disc 'LabelName' #x (copy y) burned successfully.' The 'x' is needed in order to differentiate spanned discs. 3. Agreed. 4. Agreed. It can be hidden or changes as follows: Burning...(Closing) --> Burning...(Completed Disc 'LabelName' #x). 5. I think that would be a good idea. I don't think any configuration UI is needed. Only: -Label discs as 'Labelname_x' -Any messages re. status of a disc burn should be modified to show 'LabelName_x'. e.g. for item 2 above 'LabelName' #x --> 'LabelName_x' 6. We can clarify as follows: Delete original files --> Delete source files after burning |
|
6. Much clear Agreed Most likely this is for a new bug but now by clearing 6. we could raise sub issue/feature that could be very useful and handy: 7. "Update library info to reflect burned tracks" - Add Burned CD to Library and use all Library info from Source files except (Path, Filename, File Size, Timestamp, ...) |
|
4. I'd prefer hiding it, seems to be cleaner. 5. I'm not sure whether '#' is a valid disc label character. In case it isn't, we could use it for the numbering purpose. In case it is, we could choose another character. 7. I'm not sure whether it's really needed, let's defer and possibly discuss as another issue. The rest seems to be clear, so assigning to Ludek. |
