Summary | 0005350: Quick search via search box: variants with an accent are not customizable for various languages
Description | As reported here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37712&p=194143#p194143 'รค' is converted to 'ae' instead of 'a' as one would expect A good solution here (since some people might not want certain variants?) might be to provide a default lookup table that users can then modify as they wish? We could insert the table into MM.ini file similar like we do in case of [FilenameMappings] section, but because this table is quite large, we could thread it in a separate file?

Due to the need to rebuild full-text index after such a change and also because editing such a table wouldn't probably be easy for beginners, it would be better solved in the future by fuzzy searches, i.e. so that MM would (like e.g. Google) find also matches that are similar to the word user is looking for. |
