Summary | 0005783: Metadata not added to Now Playing in certain cases, can lead to Tag Loss
Description | If you open MediaMonkey with an empty Now Playing window, resulting in an empty player (showing "MediaMonkey Player" instead of title, etc.) and you add tracks to the Now Playing window, but close before playing anything. When you reload the program, not all tracks have their information read from the Database in the Now Playing window. Only the first track will be updated, the rest remain in the "loaded from M3U" state, if you will. As noted by user ZvezdanD, opening the properties for these files from the Now Playing list results in an empty Properties dialog, and if you hit Okay, you will overwrite the tags of the file with this blank information, which is not good at all. ZvezdanD reports the behavior began in build 1251 and remains in 1256, I tested in 1256. On further investigation, I find while the aforementioned triggers this, it has nothing really to do with adding tracks, and everything to do with deleting the Now Playing track. If the track playing in the player is deleted from the Now Playing list and MM is restarted, this behavior is present. What makes this confusing, is it seems to need a specific instance of the track, as dragging the track back to the Now Playing window after it has been stopped, then restarting, still presents this behavior.
