Summary | 0005832: Switching to Now Playing cancels Show Album Art in other nodes
Description | 1 In Tree, click Library 2 In View Menu, click Show Album Art 3 In Tree, click Now Playing 4 In Shortcuts toobar, click Back Expected: Track List showing Library tracks in Show Album Art mode Observed: Track List showing Library tracks in Show Album Art with details mode Lowlander says: The issue is that the Now Playing resets the (Show) Album Art view to (Show) Album Art with Details view. ... This seems to be a regression, can't find the bug report though. and This goes for any node that supports (Show) Album Art with Details view like Artist/Album Artist and is independent on how you navigate (click on node or back button) and is independent of the setting to show or hide tracks in the Library node.

This is actually quite an annoyance for those who want to use AA mode. Simplest solution would be to store view independently for the NP node (eventually we'd probably want to store view independently for all nodes). The alternative is to enable AA mode in NP, however, this would not make that much sense. |
|
Chris, AA view mode doesn't make sense in Now Playing node because then you can't see tracks in NP (it is showing just whole albums) and each album in AA mode can be showed only once (can't split to more same albums) so user will loose his sort order. EDIT: damn i've edited your post instead of add new one. Petr. |

I think that it makes sense to store view status for NP independently. |

Fixed in 1267. Now Playing node view mode will be stored independently. |

> AA view mode doesn't make sense in Now Playing node because > then you can't see tracks in NP (it is showing just whole albums) Makes complete sense for those who want to see just whole albums in Now Playing. Especially since there is no other way to do it. > Now Playing node view mode will be stored independently. That just adds another confusing inconsistent annoyance. Sad. UI development should be going in the opposite direction. |

But switching to AA mode will reorder tracks in Now Playing list and it will be more confusing. |
|
> But switching to AA mode will reorder tracks in Now Playing list That would be dumb :) AA mode does not show tracks so it certainly shouldn't reorder them. And already it doesn't order e.g. stored playlists, so I don't see why it would reorder the Now Playing list. PS I recently used AA for quickly decompling a compilation into albums - dragging each album from AA into a separate Explorer album folder. If that excellent sandbox Now Playing had not denied AA, I wouldn't have had to first import to a MM playlist, and after delete the playlist... and the tracks now littering the library. NP is great - which is why it is MM and not iTunes :) - so why not let it have any MM facility it can use? |

I was just testing build 1274 re. issue 0005500 and noticed that this isn't working correctly. It seems that when MM is closed, the AA settings for the Now Playing and other nodes somehow get mixed up. e.g. 1 clean install of MM (i.e. all nodes in Details view) 2 switch NP to AA + Details 3 close mm and restart --> NP is in Details view and ohter nodes are in AA+Details view!! |
