I think this should be extended to MediaMonkey components like the iPod plugin. This would allow updates to these plugins without requiring a new MediaMonkey version. User should have a separate option to enable/disable extension update check. New plugins would get repackaged in the current version download so new downloads wouldn't require to update plugins. |

I second that, but I'm not sure if something has changed but currently device and Format plugins do not have version numbers that could be checked for updates. In the past there was issues with independent announce of updated DLLs/plugins. Rusty Can you revise this in case things are better now and we can make updates easier. Note: Also plugins have more states than MM (Beta, RC, Stable, BugFix) P.S. implementing should be too hard (adding new function into DLLs that will return version number). Web Front-end Admin GUI should be simple also. |
