| Description | Description added by Rusty: This issue is discussed in detail in the forum. The main issue is that according to spec, "The WM/OriginalReleaseTime attribute contains the time at which the content was originally released." Possible solutions discussed: -'ID3/TDRL' : Downside is that it would mean a mix of WM and ID3 tags -'ReleaseDate' : Seems to make sense because date field is actually referring to the release date of the track/album (and _not_ the Original Release Date) -'ReleaseTime' : This implies more is stored than just date information, probably not a great choice. -'Date': Seems to make sense becaus date field is referring to the track/album's release date. Ultimately, the best choice would be whatever is used by a couple of other leading Media Players (i.e. the defacto standard). We should test Winamp, jRiver, dbPoweramp and see what they use. Note: Whatever approach is taken, MM should also: - write WM/Year - read WM/Year when WM/DATE (or whatever is decided upon) doesn't exist | ||||
