Summary | 0006061: Album Art + Details: Artist/Album column label incorrect
Description | In "Show Album Art with details" the Artist/Album column shows the Album followed by Artist, so the more correct label is Album/Artist. EDIT: Actually the /more/ more correct label is Album + Artist, I suggest. Reported at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=43597

The intent of the current design is that default sorts by that column are by Artist (primary) / Album (secondary). So perhaps we should change the display of text next to each album to first show Artist and Then Album, but I think that the current view makes more sense. |

I agree that the sort and display orders should accord, but I expect some users would not welcome a change to display order. |

if we want to be totally correct, then it should be Album Artist/Album or Album Artist + Album, and show the Album Artist field first and then the album. BUT, we're balancing a couple of items: -the need for the header to fit (it can't be too wide) -the fact that the view is album-centric (and so the album should appear first) -the fact that users will typically want to sort by Artist and secondarily by Album in this view I think that the current arrangement does the best job of balancing these needs, even though it's not not perfectly logical. I think that making it more logical, would interfere with meeting the above needs. |
