Summary | 0006244: whatsnew.txt contains duplicated information
Description | Just pulled up the Whatsnew.txt file for the latest build (1294) due to a thread in the forum by chrisjj looking for a "plain changelog." What I found as I casually looked over it, I found that there's a _lot_ of duplicated information. The changelog is shown from the latest release, all the way down to the 0.9 release of Songs-DB, followed by a copyright notice of 2003-2007. Directly following this full changelog, is the duplicated information. It goes back through the changes from 3.0.0.1020 Alpha 2 to Songs-DB 0.9 beta. This section is followed by a more correct copyright notice of 2003-2009. The two sections are near identical, the second half doesn't contain some of the "Alpha #/Beta #" tags though, just version numbers. The upper portion (the complete one) has some different spacing on some of the "headers", as it appears some of this 2.x headers don't have spaces surrounding the splitting "---'s" (looks to only be during the 2.5.5 builds) It's a very trivial issue, but does result in some wasted disk space (not much, maybe ~120kb), but it's more about having a "clean" changelog. I assume this file is something maintained and simply copied over during install, and not something automatically appended during install (which may point to a long since fixed error in the installer from the early 3.0 builds). If it's the latter, than simply close this.
