Summary | 0006597: Integrate scrobbler into MM
Description | The scrobbler should be integrated into MM. However, as part of this integration: i) additional configuration is required to allow the user to define which collections / playlists are scrobbled (or which aren't). e.g. "Scrobble the following content:" and show a Tree with checkboxes. ii) skinners should be able to add a button to the player to control the scrobbler.

I'm not sure this is good idea. 1. Is already available in plugin 2. It was talked about and I think we never added support that player skins could have custom made button. |

I think it's a good idea. 1. other media players offer last.fm integration without any addon necessary 2. Petr did add this for 4.0, it's just not documented yet. However, a new button action would have to be added. ( AScrobblerToggle or something like that ). |
Assigning as a 'high' priority for Ludek - it would be nice to be well integrated into MM, but I wouldn't care if we don't make it into 4.0 and only get it later to 4.1. |

Per discussion over email, the existing functionality of the MM4 addon is fine except that it should support listenbrainz by default (with support for last.fm as well). Whether to use the existing addon as a base for the new one is still TBD. |
Basic last.fm scrobbling support implemented in build 2076 (by script addon). It supports sending nowplaying info, scrobbling library files and caching. Currently does not support radio streams and non-library files (filtering is not supported for these yet). It uses MM5 filtering control for choosing what to submit, where user can set rules including "Album is known" or which playlists to submit or exclude. |
All the important features seem to be implemented, decreasing priority in order to review some minor details in the future. |
Tagging as 'resolved' to trigger testing, and opening a new bug to trigger remaining issues. |
Closing Last.FM is fully integrated and there is no need requests for custom button ATM. NOTE: In MM4 it was added to toolbar due the fact it was third party plugin and use older scrobbling protocol |
