Summary0006786: iTunes MP3 Tags For Album Art APIC Frame
DescriptionIt looks that in Windows 7 Some MP3 Files created/tagged by iTunes shows Album Art Icon Instead of Associated File Type icon.

MM reads both tags and files but it would be nice if we can figure out what iTunes doing to files so that we can replicate and use it for all files that support such approach and see if that will ensure that iPods see correct Album art for the files along with speed test for reading thumbnails in Album Art view.

Example files are uploaded to FTP

Steps to replicate:
Copy example files onto Windows Desktop and refresh desktop so that after refresh instead of default File type icon Windows Show embed Album art as icon.
TagsNo tags attached.

Can you triage this and set correct priority, Rusty already confirmed described behavior after talk over IM.

NOTE: Using this approach no folder.jpg is neded to show album art for file in Windows Explorer (Desktop)

There doesn't seem anything to be done, Win 7 simply seems to show album art as stored in tag.

What Peke is trying to say is that this works with files tagged by iTunes, but not with files tagged with MM. See attached image (the file on the left was tagged by MM, the file on the right with iTunes).

That's exactly what I tried - for example a newly converted mp3 track (by MM) with 300x300 embedded jpeg image shows correctly on my Win 7 Desktop. Peke, can you confirm that it doesn't work for you? Maybe there is some problem with the embedded image in your case, something like too high resolution, or possibly not a jpeg?

Works fine for me too (same as Jiri) on the desktop.
